Only By Lifting Others That We Will Rise
The Covid-19 impacts have led to widespread increases in nationwide food insecurity, affecting vulnerable households in almost every state. This occurs when a household has difficulty providing enough food and basic necessities due to lack of resources. Apart from that, many local businesses have also been greatly affected by the pandemic. Many small businesses collapse, and jobs lost.
Good news is, the MCO already been lifted up some time ago and the economy is restarting again. It looks like everything is slowly coming back to normal. However, we feel like the ‘white flag’ issue is on the verge of becoming a bit of an ‘out of mind, out of sight’ topic. While it may be true that a significant number of families and businesses already been able to get up on their feet now, the fact is that there are many who are still in dire needs of help!
We are campaigning to halt the devastating impact of the nationwide pandemic crisis that has been affecting many vulnerable households and small local businesses here in Malaysia.
“My husband and I are not working in these past two months. I am a housewife, and my husband is a cook at a café. The café is closed. Only once did the employers gave my husband a half-pay. The situation now is quite hard. If there’s any help, we’d only need basic daily items.” says Kalaivani, an affected housewife living in Putrajaya, through kitajaga.co website.
This campaign serves as an initiative to help those in dire needs, while simultaneously try to rebuild the local economy. If it can be sustained, it will surely help save local small and medium businesses, as well as many jobs too.
